The Landholding Task Force, created in 2023, integrates initiatives previously distributed in other working groups. Its focus is on discussions around land monitoring and planning, as well as technical analyses of bills on land tenure regularization in progress in the National Congress.
In 2020 and 2021, Task Force representatives attended public hearings, addressed letters to parliamentarians, and carried out analyses and position statements referring to critical aspects of bills related to land tenure regularization, which were criticized by several sectors of civil society.
The TF also identified databases and technical conditions that will enable faster monitoring and land-use planning in the country, such as to invest more in the transparency of integrating landholding information.
