After being legally part of the Brazilian Business Council for Sustainable Development (CEBDS) for six years, the Coalition established a non-profit civil association in 2021 to provide institutional, legal, financial, administrative, and logistical support to the movement.
With support from SBSA Advogados, a legal consultancy specialized in the third sector, and in agreement with the institutionalization committee comprising members from the Strategic Group (SG) and Executive Group (EG), the Brazilian Coalition on Climate, Forests and Agriculture Support Institute (IAC, in Portuguese acronym) was established on December 17, 2021.
As an operational organization supporting the Coalition, the IAC has a simple governance, comprised of a General Assembly, an Audit Committee, and a Board of Directors, which must always act in tune with the Coalition’s founding principles and guidelines.
Since then, the Coalition’s Executive Coordination team has been dedicated to design the IAC’s administrative, financial, and institutional processes.
