The Brazilian Coalition on Climate, Forests and Agriculture, a movement formed by more than 300 representatives of agribusiness, financial sector, civil society and the academia, strongly repudiates the storming and ransack of the National Congress building, the Federal Supreme Court and the Presidential Palace that occurred last Sunday in Brasília. Beyond acts of vandalism, these actions represent an unacceptable affront to the democratic rule of law.
Therefore, it is of paramount importance to investigate the attacks’ planning and execution, and that those funding and responsible are identified and fully prosecuted of the law. The Brazilian Coalition expects that defending democracy will remain a basic principle for the Three Branches and our society.
