The Forest Code has been one of the main guidelines of the Coalition’s proposals since the movement’s establishment. The legislation’s implementation was already proposed in the “Livro Verde” (Green Book), the first document released by the Coalition, in 2015.

Ever since, the Forest Code has been included throughout the agenda of a series of working groups and forums for discussion. In 2021, the Coalition created the Forest Code Task Force to integrate the internal dialogue and promote its urgency with external stakeholders and public authorities.

The TF dialogues with other organizations from civil society and the academia engaged in the subject. Through this dialogue, the movement identifies how it can contribute to the national debate without overlapping its activities with others that already exist. All initiatives seek to promote the development of public policies that reconcile factors such as data transparency and economic incentives, which contemplate all those concerned with complying with environmental legislation.
